Netgear Ex6920 WiFi Range Extender Setup with WPS Method
The WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) method establishes the connection between the wireless devices and a router faster. The side panels of Netgear Ex6920 Extender Setup contain the Device Link (the connection between the extender and a WiFi device or a computer), a Router Link (the connection between the router and the range extender), WPS button LEDs, and Power Button. Installation steps are the following:
- Put the wireless router and Netgear range extender in the same room. Attach the range extender to the power socket.
- Check the power LED light turns into solid Green or not. If not, then press Power Button of the range extender.
- After that, push the WPS button of the Netgear Ex6920 WiFi Extender and check the WPS LED light blink on it or not.
- If the light blinks, then press the WPS button on the access point or the WiFi Router and see WPS LED blinks on the router.
- Once the WPS LED of Netgear Ex6920 Extender turns solid green, then it confirms that the connection of WiFi and the Extender is successfully established.
- Now, the users will see 3 LED lights (WPS, Power, and WiFi) on the Netgear Ex6920 Setup that shows that proper connection has been established.
- Unplug the extender and put the range extender to a new location but the centralized location is preferred which means in the middle of the workplace.
- After placing the extender to the new place, again plug-in the range extender to the power outlet.
- Now check, the Router Link LED light is green or not. If not, then change the location of the Range Extender.
- Finally, attach its two new extender WiFi networks from which displays as _5EXT and _2EXT.
How to Setup a Static IP Address to Netgear Ex6920 Extender
Generally, the home networks are set up with the help of default settings that connect the Extenders by using dynamic IP addresses. But in case, the users require using Static IP address, and then refer the following steps:
- Open the web browser on the device which is already connected with the WiFi system.
- Enter the web address Mywifiext.net into the address bar of the browser.
- It will redirect the users to the Login Page and then enter the Username and Password.
- After logging in, click on the “Menu” icon option.
- In this option, go to “Settings” and select Wireless Settings to open the WiFi Settings Page.
- On this page, the users have to select the option of “IP Address”.
- Here, the users will choose the “Static IP Address” Radio Button and fill all the necessary details in the fields.
- Finally, click on the “Save” tab to save all the changes.
